HELEN C. LARSEN, 89

Former Washington County resident Helen C. Larsen, 89, of Fremont, died Saturday, Feb. 2, 2002, in the A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services were Wednesday, Feb. 6, in the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hooper, with the Rev. Robert Kocher officiating. Interment was in the Memorial Cemetery in Fremont.

Helen C. Larsen was born Feb. 25, 1912, on a farm near Herman to Anton and Martine (Christensen) Kruse. She attended school in Telbasta.

On July 21, 1936, she married Norris O. Larsen in Plattsmouth. They farmed in Fontanelle and Hooper areas until moving to Fremont in 1975.

Mrs. Larsen was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church of Hooper, and had been active in its women’s organizations.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Richard Klebe of Fremont, and three sons and daughters-in-law, Darrel and Carolyn Larsen, and LaVern and Sharon Larsen, all of Hooper, and Lyle and Janet Larsen of Fremont, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brother and sister-in-law, Viggo and Lola Kruse of Loveland, Colo., and a sister, Dagmar Kruse of Fremont.

Memorials are suggested to Redeemer Lutheran Church and to the Merrick Manor-FAMC Foundation.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont was in charge of arrangements.
