LARS E. LARSEN DIED AT GOOD SHEPHERD HOME

Lars E. Larsen, a lifetime resident of Washington County, died December 24th at the Good Shepherd Home in Blair. He was 92 years of age.

Mr. Larsen was born at Ft. Calhoun, May 18, 1881 and he was the only surviving member of his immediate family. Two brothers and a sister preceded him in death.

His father, Anders Larsen, died when Lars was but 10 years of age. His mother, later, was married to Chris L. Bendorf Sr. Three half brothers and two half sisters of Lars were born. This family included Chris K. Bendorf of Blair who is the only surviving member of the family.

Lars spent his life as a farmer. He never married. On May 1, 1960 he retired from farm work and became a resident of the Good Shepherd Home. He died there last Monday, December 24th.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 28th at the Bendorf Funeral Home. The Rev. H.C. Jorgensen conducted the service and burial was made in the Blair cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews of the deceased.
