Memorial Service Thursday For Mrs. Veda Walton

A memorial service will be held at the Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home, on Thursday, November 8, at 2:00 p.m. for Mrs. Veda Walton, of San Diego, California, who passed away on Friday, October 27th.

Mrs. Walton was 90 years old at the time of her death. Veda Benedict was born at Malcolm, Nebraska on March 10, 1889. She was baptized and confirmed in the Fort Calhoun Presbyterian Church. On April 16, 1908 she married Harry Walton. They moved to Midland, South Dakota, where they homesteaded. When Harry left the farm he became a salesman, moving to wherever his work was. They lived in Deadwood, South Dakota, Long Pine, Nebraska and Fort Calhoun. In 1961 she moved to Santee, California where she spent the rest of her life.

At one time she served as Worthy Matron in the Long Pine Chapter of Eastern Star.

Mrs. Walton is survived by one daughter, Vesta Bagley of Santee, California; one son, William of Timber Lake, South Dakota, and two grand-daughters, Judy Feser of Claremont, South Dakota, and Jane Riedl of Barstow, California.
