Edward M. Grenier, 67

Funeral services were held Monday, October 1 at First Presbyterian Church in Casper, Wyoming, for Edward M. Grenier, 67, of Casper who died September 28, 1990, at the Wyoming Medical Center after a long illness. Rev. Doug Scott officiated. Burial was in the Oregon Trail State Veterans Cemetery.

Edward M. Grenier was born September 19, 1923, at Lyons, Nebraska, to Ernest and Edna Grenier. He grew up in Herman and graduated from high school there.

After graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Army and served in the European Theatre of operations during World War II with the 612th Engineer Light Equipment Co.

He married Marjorie M. Misfeldt April 24, 1948, at Council Bluffs, Iowa. After they married, they farmed in eastern Nebraska until 1956 when he went to work for the United States Soil Conservation Service. In 1962, he moved to Casper where he continued with the SCS until his retirement in 1985.

He was a member of Worland Elks Lodge No. 1908 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 991 of Casper.

He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant son and one brother, Ernest Grenier.

He is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Casper; seven children, Judy Hansen of Blair; Kathy Sorensen of Casper; Cindy Canter, Dallas, Texas; Mark Grenier of Casper; Mary Kay Ryan of Rock Springs; Brian Grenier of Casper; Rene’e Peterson of Philip, South Dakota; two sisters, Virginia Olsen of Stockton, California and Beverly Eastberg of Omaha; and 12 grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Wyoming Medical Center Blue Room Foundation or the Central Wyoming Cancer Treatment Center and Hospice.

Bustard Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements for the services.
