Ellen E. L. Greunke, 96, of Arlington, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at the Pathfinder House in Fremont.

Services were Monday, Aug. 3, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. Interment was at St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Ellen E. L. Stork was born Dec. 17, 1912, in Arlington to Henry and Mary (Stranghoener) Stork. She grew up in Arlington.

On Dec. 17, 1934, she married Henry W. Greunke in Arlington. Mrs. Greunke farmed with her husband. She moved to Omaha in 1958, and moved back to Arlington in 1984. She had been residing at the Pathfinder House since 2007.

Mrs. Greunke was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and was active at the Arlington Senior Center.

She is survived by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Luther and Carolyn Greunke of Arlington, Del and Rita Greunke and Lowell and LaDonna Greunke, all of Omaha; daughter, Mary Ellen Raines of Arlington; 10 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry, in 1984; and a brother, Levi Stork.
