Carroll Thomas Griffis, 94

Carroll Thomas Griffis, 94, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz., died at his home on Oct. 15, 2002. Funeral services were Oct. 18 at community Presbyterian Church.

Carroll Thomas Griffis was born March 12, 1908, to Frank and Anna Griffis at the family home in Carson, Iowa. The family moved to a Harrison County, Iowa, farm in 1921, and Mr. Griffis lived and farmed there until he retired in 1972.

He and his wife, Besse, enjoyed 57 years of marriage, farming, fishing and traveling. Their retirement to Lake Havasu City in 1973 and building their home was a dream long planned and full-filled.

Mr. Griffis was a member of Community Presbyterian Church and a lifetime member of the Masons and Eastern Star.

He is survived by a daughter, Barbara “Bobbi” Jean Campbell and granddaughter, both of Bullhead City, Ariz., son-in-law, Jerry Campbell of Olathe, Kan.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Besse, and a grandson.
