Nancy L. Griffith, 48

Services for Nancy L. Griffith, 48, of Good Shepherd Lutheran Home in Blair, who died May 1, 1994, will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, at Messiah Lutheran Church in Ralston. Burial will be in Westlawn Cemetery in Omaha.

Visitation begins at 9 a.m. Tuesday, May 3. A prayer service will be 7 p.m. Tuesday.

Nancy L. Griffith was born May 12, 1945, in Fremont to Roy J. and Ola Freeman Anderson.

She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau and Messiah Lutheran Church.

She graduated from Blair High School in 1963. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University Of Nebraska College Of Nursing in 1968. She began her career as a staff nurse in the operating room at the University of Nebraska Medical Center Hospital and became head nurse three years later.

She obtained her Master’s Degree in Nursing in 1975 from the UNMC College of Nursing and taught at the college for 15 years.

She published several articles.

She retired from nursing in 1987 due to multiple sclerosis.

A family nurse practitioner scholarship fund was established in her honor by the College of Nursing Class of 1968.

She married Jerry Griffith November 15, 1969, in Blair.

She was preceded in death by her father, Roy.

She is survived by her husband, Jerry of Ralston; one son, Sean of Ralston; her mother, Ola Anderson of Fremont and two sisters, Janice (Mrs. Adrian) Flynn of Blair and Beverly (Mrs. David Carder of Houston, Texas.

Memorials may go to the Family Nurse Practitioner Scholarship Fund or the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
