Sherre K. Ward, 44

Funeral services for Sherre K. Ward, 44, of Fort Calhoun, will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 23, at the First Baptist Church in Blair. Interment will be in the Fort Calhoun Cemetery. Mrs. Ward died on Monday, March 19, 2001.

Sherre K. (Asher) Ward was born on Jan. 30, 1057, in Grand Island to Gayle and Mary (Hochstetler) Asher. On May 26, 1978, she married James Ward in Blair.

She lived more than half of her life on the farm she shared with her husband and children in the DeSoto hills. It was there that she carried out her favorite hobby and life’s work, building her family. In doing so, she became a wife, a mother, a friend, a guide, a companion and a symbol of strength and optimism.

She always embraced and celebrated the lives of others, and so now, even in her death, her life will continue to be celebrated.

She is survived by her husband, James, three daughters and a son-in-law, Stephanie and Harold Short of Fort Calhoun, Rhonda Ward of Blair, Christy Ward of Paris, Tenn., a son, Jamie Ward of Blair, three grandchildren, her father, Gayle Asher of Doniphan, Mo., three sisters and brothers-in-law, Gaylyn Asher of Cario, Sheila and Dick Daniels of Cario and Katie and Hank Hudson of Arkansas.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
