Alene Gregersen

Alene Gregersen, 68, a resident of 1011 Plumb Street in Atlantic, Iowa, died Saturday at the Cass County Memorial Hospital in Atlantic.

The daughter of John Wesley and Mae Davis Sutherland, she was born August 11, 1917, at Craig, Nebraska, and moved to Blair, Nebraska, at the age of 16. She graduated from the Blair High School in 1935 and was married to Lee J. Gregersen on September 5, 1940, at Omaha, and they moved to Atlantic in 1945. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, the Order of Eastern Star, and the White Shrine.

She is survived by her husband, Lee; a daughter, Mrs. Cindy Sykes and her husband Jim of Atlantic; two grandsons, Lee J. Sykes and Wesley Charles Sykes of Atlantic; three nephews; and a niece. She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Fern Davis; a brother, Victor Sutherland; and a nephew, Robert Davis.
