Donna M. Doll, 94, of Decatur, died Thursday, August 23, 2012, surrounded by her children at Regency Care Center in South Sioux City.

A Celebration of Life Service was Monday, August 27, at the United Methodist Church in Decatur. Burial was in the Hillcrest Cemetery, Decatur.

Donna Margarette Stafford was born March 18, 1918, to Thalmer A. and Amanda Belle (Houts) Stafford in the family home in Decatur.

She attended school in Decatur.

On May 12, 1934, she married Michael John “Jack” Doll in Neligh.

She lived her entire life in Decatur other than a few years that were spent in Ida Grove, Iowa, and Lyons, shortly after marrying.

She worked as the bookkeeper for the family business, Doll’s Service and DD Parts. She was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Decatur and was a member of the VFW Auxiliary. She also served many years on the city election board.

She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, hosting family get-togethers, reading, and had a passion for writing. The legacy she gave her children was her example of being a good parent and loving unconditionally.

She is survived by three daughters and one son and their spouses, Leah and Francis Quick of Blair, Jackie and David Stanford of Bristow, Okla., Mike and Carole Doll of Hornick, Iowa, and Angie and Randy Archer of Sioux City, Iowa; 11 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 16 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John “Jack,” on February 18, 1997; two sons, Terry Lee and John Jr.; great-granddaughter, Gina Marie Quick; great-great-grandson, Gavin Wolsmann; six sisters and five brothers, Freda Donohoe, Eva Mary Sanders, Irene Andersen, Marie Anderson, Vern Peter Stafford, Leo Stafford, Francis Stafford, Helen Pyle, Alvin Stafford, Ruth Evelyn Dimmick and Carrol LeRoy “Jack” Stafford.

Memorials are suggested to the Decatur United Methodist Women.

Pelan Funeral Services in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
