Services To Be Held Tuesday For Mary Green

Graveside services will be held Thursday, August 30, at 3:30 p.m. at the Blair Cemetery for Mary Watts Green, 90 years old, who died Monday, August 27, 1979, at her home, 659 N. 12th Street, in Blair. Rev. Walter Millett of Tekamah will officiate.

Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Old Timers Club will also conduct graveside services.

The body will lie in state at the family home in Blair from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Visitation at Moser Memorial Chapel was Wednesday.

Mary Watts Green was born January 19, 1889, at Loveland, Iowa. She married Jesse W. Watts on February 12, 1904. He died May 26, 1942. In 1945, she married Bruce Green. He also preceded her in death in 1951.

She lived most of her life in the Blair area, excepting a few years when she lived in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was a member of the first Christian Church, the Old Timers Club in Blair and the VFW Auxiliary Post in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Her first husband, Jesse, was night policeman in Blair for many years.

She is survived by one son, Jesse Wilber Watts of Council Bluffs, Iowa; and two daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Kay) Jarman and Mrs. Harriett D. Scott, both of Blair. One sister, Mrs. Lydia Leggio of Honey Creek, Iowa, three step-children, Clarence Green in California, Robert Matheson in Colorado, and Minnie Matheson of Council Bluffs, Iowa; 20 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren and 14 great-great-grandchildren also survive her.

A memorial has been established in her name.

Pallbearers will be Len Jarman, Scott Jarman, Robert Watts, Marvin Watts, Robert Hadcock and Dennis Hadcock.

Moser Funeral Chapel in Fremont is in charge of arrangements for the services.
