Dale Greenamyre

Services for Dale Greenamyre of Brunswick, who had been a lay minister of the United Church of Christ, were held Friday, August 22, at the Congregational Church.

Age 71, he died Tuesday August 19, 1986, at an Omaha hospital.

Greenamyre had been lay minister since February 1981 at churches in Norfolk, Tilden, Neligh and Hartington and a supply minister to other churches. He was interim pastor of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Norfolk from June 1985 to June 1986 when a regular pastor arrived.

He was born August 22, 1914, to Solomon and Susie Greenamyre in rural Antelope County. He attended District 77 School and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1932. On March 26, 1939, he married Leona Rose at Neligh. They farmed until moving to Brunswick in 1974.

He was a member of Diamond Lodge and Sunset Chapter 300, AF&AM. He had been Worshipful Master 2 ½ years and a five-term Worthy Patron.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Jeanine Milner of Leland, North Carolina, and Leanne Dorathy of Tekamah; two sons, Dwaine of Blair and Rodney of Brunswick; three brothers, Gerald of Niobrara, Amos of Sun City, California, and Vernie of Leavenworth, Kansas; one sister, Sue Scala of Bellport, Long Island, New York, and six grandchildren.
