Mr. Oliver Greeno, an old resident of Washington county, died Sunday, August 11, at his home in Herman. He was a member of the K. P. Lodge and the funeral was held on Monday from the Baptist church, under the auspices of that lodge, assisted by 17 members of the Blair lodge and a delegation from the Tekamah lodge. He was 68 years old at the time of his death.

Greeno – At his home in Herman, Sunday, August 11, 1895, Oliver Greeno, aged 67 years.

Oliver Greeno was born in New York, Dec. 5, 1827, and had been 27 years a resident of this county. He had been in poor health for some time, but was only sick abed two or three days before his death when he was taken down with summer complaint. He had been a faithful member of the Knights of Pythias for a number of years, and was a consistent member of the Methodist church 35 years previous to his death. He leaves a widow and one minor child, a son, as well as some adult children.

The funeral was held at the Baptist church at Herman Monday afternoon under the auspices of the Knights of Pythias, and the services were conducted by Rev. McFarland pastor of that church.

Oliver Greeno was a man of sterling worth, and a good citizen who always commanded the respect and esteem of all who knew him.
