Francis C. Gregg, 71

Services for Francis C. Gregg, 71, who died February 10, 1994, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha, will be 1 p.m. Thursday, February 17, at Rozanek and Son Colonial Chapel in Fremont. Rev. Curt Trenhaile of First United Methodist Church in Blair will officiate. Burial will be in Prairie View Cemetery in Washington County.

Visitation will be Tuesday, February 15, from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. and Wednesday, February 16 from 9 a.m.-8 .p.m., Thursday from 9 a.m. until the time of services.

Francis C. Gregg was born June 8, 1922, on the family homestead about 35 miles south of Gillette, Wyoming, in Campbell County. He moved to Omaha in 1927 and lived there for two years before moving to Cushing, Nebraska, in 1931.

In 1931 he moved back to the family homestead and lived there until 1942 when he went into the United States Navy. He served in the Navy from December, 1942, to January, 1955.

He served in the European Theater during World War II and the Pacific area. He also served during the Korean War from 1951-1955.

After he returned to Gillette, he was married. In 1957, he moved back to Nebraska and in 1965 he moved to Washington, Nebraska, where he lived until his death.

He was a sheet metal worker in the air conditioning and refrigeration field. He retired in about 1980 after working for numerous construction companies in the Omaha and surrounding areas.

He was a life-time member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 579 in Gillette, where he was also the Post Commander in 1955.

He married Betty Lou Vasholz at the first Presbyterian Church in Gillette November 13, 1955.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.

He is survived by a sister Bernice E. Curtis of Casper, Wyoming, and a sister-in-law, Mary P. Gregg of Jordon, Montana, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Rozanek and Son Colonial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
