| Memorials may be directed to Immanuel Lutheran Church of Crowell Home for Marie D. Andersen, age 95 of Blair who died at Crowell Home on June 23, 1992.
Marie Dorthea Nelson was born at Blair on September 11, 1896 to Christ and Mary Wolsmann Nelson. She graduated from Blair High School and attended Dana College, obtaining a teaching certificate.
She taught in several country schools and during World War I served as a postal clerk at the Blair Post Office.
In 1919 she married Alfred C. Andersen. They lived on a farm west of Herman for 47 years before retiring in Blair.
They were the parents of one daughter, Helen Marie Christenson, of Mountain View, California.
Marie had spent nearly four years at the Crowell Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred.
She is survived by her daughter, Helen; two granddaughters, Lea Ann (Mrs. Michael) Salisbury, San Jose, California and Lynn Christenson, Mountain View, California and two great-granddaughters, Lauren Marie Dorthea and Emma Ann Salisbury.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday, June 26 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Orum with Rev. Chris Beyer officiating. Burial will be in the Blair Cemetery.
