Glynnis A. Green, 56, of Fremont died Friday, Sept. 12, 2008, at Arbor Manor in Fremont.

Glynnis A. Martens was born Dec. 2, 1951, in Central City to Leonard and Glendora (Petersen) Martens. She grew up in Lyons, Oakland and Arlington before moving to Fremont in 1962. She was a 1970 graduate of Fremont High School. She previously worked at the former Johnnie’s Café in Fremont as a waitress and also worked at Alco and M&H Gas Station in Fremont. She married Fred Green on Sept. 18, 1975, in Rapid City, S.D.; he died April 17, 2005.

She attended the Church of the Nazarene in Fremont.

Survivors include: a son, Brian (and wife, Staci) Martens of Fremont; three brothers, Gale (and wife, Nancy) Martens of Central City, Greg (and wife, Louise) Martens of Schuyler and Gaylord (and wife, Sue) Martens of Grand Island; a sister, Glorene Martens of Fremont; two grandchildren, Jeff and Caitlin Martens; close friend, David Ringle of Fremont; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gary Martens.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the church of the Nazarene in Fremont with there. Tom Shaw officiating. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Monday, with family receiving friends 6-8 p.m., at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation also will be one hour prior to the service Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Ridge Cemetery in Fremont.
