Irma L. Grefe, 82

Lifelong Arlington resident Irma L. Grefe, 82, died Aug. 14, 2004, at Nye Pointe Health & Rehab Center in Fremont.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, with the Pastor Rick Kanoy officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery.

Visitation began Monday, and will also be held on Tuesday, one hour prior to services, at the church.

Irma L. Grefe was born Aug. 21, 1921, in Arlington to Henry and Sophie (Plugge) Dickmeyer. She lived her entire life in the Arlington area.

On Sept. 23, 1942, she married Wilbur Grefe at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Mrs. Grefe was a member of St. Paul’s, as well as the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League. She also was a member of a canasta club.

She is survived by her husband, Wilbur; son and daughter-in-law, Rod and Cindy Grefe of Arlington; daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Rick Kruse of Bennington, Janel and Ron Peters, and Lois and Stan Misfeldt, all of Arlington; brother-in-law and wife, Fred and Mardell Heybrock, also of Arlington; 18 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Alfred Dickmeyer, and a sister, Esther Scheer.

Memorials are suggested to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Irma L. Grefe, 82, of Arlington, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at Nye Pointe Health & Rehabilitation Center in Fremont.

She was born Aug. 21, 1921, in Arlington to Henry and Sophie (Plugge) Dickmeyer. She lived all her life in the Arlington area. She married Wilbur Grefe on Sept. 23, 1942, in Arlington.

She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League and the Canasta Club.

Survivors include: her husband; a son, Rod (and wife, Cindy) Grefe of Arlington; three daughters, Barbara (Mrs. Rick) Kruse of Bennington, Janel (Mrs. Ron) Peters and Lois (Mrs. Stan) Misfeldt, all of Arlington; a brother-in-law, Fred (and wife, Mardell) Heybrock of Arlington; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.

The funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, north of Arlington, with the Rev. Rick Kanoy officiating. Visitation will be from 3-9 p.m. today with the family receiving friends from 6:30-8 p.m., all at Reckmeyer-Moser Funeral Home in Arlington. Visitation will continue one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery in Arlington.

A memorial has been established to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.
