Wesley J. Graulich, 95, of Fremont, died May 13, 2001, at the A. J. Merrick Manor in Fremont.

Funeral services are 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 17, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont with the Rev. Phillip Vance and Lay Minister Mike Meyer officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Cemetery.

Wesley J. Graulich was born March 17, 1906, in Parkers Settlement, Ind., to Heinrich and Margaretha (Schauss) Graulich. He grew up in Posey County, Ind.

On Aug. 14, 1927, he married Ella Fuchs in Evanston, Ind.

In September 1928, he moved to Arlington. There, he operated a fuel delivery route for a brief time and then he began farming. He farmed northeast of Hooper in Washington County in the Immanuel Lutheran area. In 1949, he moved to a farm east of Fremont, where Trinity Lutheran Church and School are now located.

After he retired from farming in 1966, he worked for the Fremont Hatchery and for Mahnke Implement Co., and he also helped his son on the farm.

Mr. Graulich had been a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Fremont since 1949, and had served on the church council as an Elder and as a Trustee.

He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Virgene Graulich of Fremont, four granddaughters and their spouses, and four great-granddaughters, and a sister, Anna Parsons of Indiana.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella, and by two brothers and a sister.

Memorials are suggested to the Trinity Lutheran Church Building Fund.

Ludvigsen Mortuary in Fremont is in charge of arrangements.
