Henry J. Gottsch Buried Dec. 3rd

Henry J. Gottsch, a resident of the Bennington community in the south part of Washington county, was buried in the German Cemetery in the Dornacker school district last Thursday, December 3rd. He had died Tuesday, December 1.

Mr. Gottsch was born in Woodstock, Minnesota, on December 7, 1902, but came to Nebraska with his family when but an infant. The family farmed near Bennington in 1913.

He was married to Josephine Dornacker February 23, 1927, and the couple resided on a farm near the Washington-Douglas county line until 1949 when they moved to Benson where Mr. Gottsch became custodian at the Benson West School. He held that position until illness forced him to be away from his work. Only in October of this year he had been tendered a life membership in the Benson West P.T.A.

He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and was a member of St. John’s Lutheran church in Bennington and services were held there last Thursday.

Honorary pallbearers were Raymond Schuldt, Ernest Kerstetter, Richard Lamp, Rymer Fedde, Herbert Cohrs, and George Mueller. Active pall bearers were James Dornacker, Ralph and Kenneth Ohrt, Robert Desler, Marvin Hansen and Terry Christensen.
