John Fredrick (Bob) Grabbe, Jr., 84, of Blair, died Monday, March 15, 1999, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services were Thursday, March 18, at Good Shepherd Chapel in Blair.

Burial was in Blair Cemetery.

John Fredrick Grabbe, Jr. was born June 26, 1914, to John Fredrick and Anna Maria (Hovendick) Grabbe in Spiker.

He lived his entire life in Washington County.

Although handicapped by illness, he was a faithful worker and lived a fruitful life.

A devout Lutheran, he exemplified Christian ethics and was a friend to everyone he met.

He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. William A. (Hildred) Wiese of Uehling and Mrs. George (Dorothy) Heinssen of Blair; brother, Leland Grabbe and wife, Elaine, of Herman; nine nephews, eight nieces and other relatives.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Marx, William and Edward Grabbe; sister, Violet Babbitt; and nephew David Babbitt.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
