Richard A. DeWitt, 77, of Omaha, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at Lakeside Hospital in Omaha.

Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, September 8, at Country Bible Church in Blair. Visitation will begin Friday at 4 p.m. with family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Richard A. DeWitt was born July 21, 1935, in Nora Springs, Iowa, to Marvin D. and Mary Gertrude (Tobin) DeWitt.

He was a graduate of Blair High School. On April 30, 1954, he married Marilyn Muller.

Mr. DeWitt worked as a diesel mechanic and retired from Werner Enterprises. He always enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially camping and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn of Omaha; daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Pat Tebow of Denver, Katherine and LeRoy Sinclair of Omaha and Kimberly and Steve Welch of New Castle, Okla.; sons, Curtis DeWitt and Thomas Dewitt, both of Omaha; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; sisters, Margaret, Catherine, Virginia, Mary, Liz and Charlene; and brothers. Marvin and George.

He was preceded in death by a son, Gary; sister, Cookie; and baby sister, Mary.
