Marie A. Emanuel, 89

Marie A. Emanuel, 89, of North Bend, died Thursday, Nov. 2, 2006, at Birchwood Manor in North Bend.

Funeral services were Saturday, Nov. 4, at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend. Interment was at Woodland Cemetery in North Bend.

Marie A. Kreikemeier was born June 20, 1917, in Monterey to Anton and Sophie (Kaup) Kreikemeier. She grew up and lived in the Monterey area, north of Snyder, until her marriage. She married Charles F. Emanuel of April 17, 1941, at Monterey. The couple lived and farmed northeast of North Bend. After her husband's death in 1986, Mrs. Emanuel moved into North Bend in 1987.

She was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend, where she was a member of the church circle and St. Anne's Altar Society.

She is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Paul and Margie Emanuel and Chuck and Sue Emanuel, all of North Bend, and Doug and LaVonna Emanuel of Sioux Falls, S.D.; seven daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Robert Neid and Marian and Robert Wolf, all of Omaha, Gerri and Dave Heywood of Snyder, Ruth and Alan Slattery of Lincoln, Betty and Rick Brant and Lois and David Warrick, all of Blair, and Linda and Tom Storz of Lincoln; a brother and sister-in-law, Anton and Patsy Kreikemeier of West Point; sister and brother-in-law, Bertha and Paul Steuter of West Point; brother-in-law, Maynard Parr of Dodge; two sisters-in-law, Cecelia Powers of North Bend and Marcella and Jim Waters of Mesa, Ariz.; 31 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Alois and Otto Kreikemeier; five sisters, Clara Hagedorn, Teresa Parr, Anne Van Ackern, and Catherine and Rosie Kreikemeier; and five grandchildren.

Memorials are suggested to the church or the North Bend Senior Center.

Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend was in charge of arrangements.
