Kenneth Sanford, 88

Kenneth Sanford “W.C.”, “Red” and “KBØDQL”, 88, of Fort Calhoun, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 2012, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 7, at Sievers-Sprick Funeral Home in Fort Calhoun. Visitation will be 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Private interment will be at a later date at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Omaha.

Kenneth Sanford was born June 30, 1924, in South Omaha, to Charles Merwin and Hazel Madeline (Armstrong) Sanford.

He was a member of the Omaha Country Club Caddies Association, Nebraska Mineral and Gem, VFW Post 2704, Fort Calhoun American Legion Post 348, Wheel Horse Association of America, Midwest Wood Carvers Association, Aksarben Ham Radio, Omaha Radio League Ham Radio Operators and Tin Can Sailors.

He is survived by his wife, Janice (Templin) (Andrews) Sanford of Fort Calhoun; his ex-wife Irma (Kresl) Sanford of Omaha; 12 children; 30 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorials are suggested to Shipley Historical Cemetery Association Inc., Fort Calhoun Fire and Rescue, Ponca Hills Fire and Rescue, or Alegent Creighton Hospice.
