Marie L. Steffen, 90

Marie L. Steffen, 90, of Blair, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012, at Good Shepherd Home in Blair.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, September 7, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Friday. Interment will be in the Blair Cemetery.

Marie Lillian Betts was born May 14, 1922, in Plainview to Henry W. and Mary A. (Barker) Betts. She married Emmett Steffen.

Over the years, she worked and lived in many places. During World War II, she worked in a factory in Rockford, Ill., making triggers. She took care of a family in Tekamah, and she cleaned houses and cleaned at the Clifton Hotel. She attended the Assembly of God Church for many years and also taught Sunday School.

She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Shelton of Blair; sons and daughters-in-law, Alan and Virginia Steffen of Bellevue and Lynn and Tory Steffen of Blair; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Lois Ann Steffen of Clovis, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Emmett Steffen; son, Wayne Steffen; and several brothers and sisters.
