RICHARD W. LARSEN, 57

Richard W. Larsen, 57, died Thursday, Oct. 9, 2008, at his home in Herman.

A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. next Monday, Oct. 20, at First Lutheran Church in Blair. A private family interment will follow at a later date.

Richard W. Larsen was born Sept. 11, 1951, in Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Russell W. and Elaine K. Larsen, and was baptized and confirmed at First Lutheran Church in Blair.

He grew up on the family farm and graduated from Blair High School in 1969.

He spent six years in the Army National Guard and worked in construction in Omaha. He enjoyed gardening, his family, and was a caring friend to many,

He is survived by his mother, Elaine Larsen of Blair, two brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert and Cheryl Larsen of Fremont, and Larry Larsen of Blair; five nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Russell.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the First Lutheran Church or the American Diabetes Association.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
