Joan Kay Grabow, 47, of Leadville, Colo., and most recently of Fort Calhoun died Wednesday, Feb. 4, 1998, at Fort Calhoun.

There will be a memorial service at a later date in Leadville, Colo.

Joan Kay Grabow was born June 19, 1950, in Omaha to Paul E. and Agnes O. Mikulecky Grabow. She attended school at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and Greeley, Colorado, and had Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees. She was a ceramics and fine arts teacher.

Survivors are a daughter, Serena Melville of Fort Calhoun; aunts and uncles, Marie and Edward Stejskal and Rose Paulson, both of Omaha; Alma Grabow of Canon City, Colo.; and Marge and Curt Grabow of Omaha; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Becky Grabow of Fort Calhoun; her mother, Agnes Grabow of Fort Calhoun and four nieces.

She was preceded in death by her father, Paul, and her grandparents.
