Father Of Doctor Grace Died In S.D.

Doctor and Mrs. Leslie Grace, Jr., Don, Tim and Jay Grace and Cindy Sorensen attended the funeral services for Leslie Grace, Sr., father of Dr. Grace, in Clark, South Dakota, on January 17.

Leslie Sr. suffered a stroke on January 13, and passed away the following day at the Clark Nursing Home at the age of 87. He had been in failing health for three years. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Bernice, on December 25, 1971. In 1974 he married Izetta Lien of Clark.

Leslie was a graduate of Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell in 1914. He taught many years, and later farmed in Sanborn County. He worked many years in the ASCS Office in Woonsocket, and was active in the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Izetta, three sons, Ernest of Clark; Ernan of Huron, Dr. Leslie Jr., of Blair, Nebraska; one daughter, Mrs. Jack (Carolyn) Hyde of Huron; twelve grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, his first wife Bernice, and one grandson, Leslie III.

Don, Tim, and Jay Grace were among the eight grandsons who were the pallbearers for their grandfather.
