Barbara R. Goldberg, 80

Barbara R. Goldberg, 80, of Uehling, died Sunday, September 9, 2012, in Fremont.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday with family receiving friends on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. at Moser Memorial Chapel. Visitation continues on Friday one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Arlington Cemetery.

Barbara R. Walsh was born September 27, 1931, in Fremont to Alfred and Ruth (Barr) Walsh.

She grew up in Fremont and Omaha and graduated from Fremont High School in 1949.

On January 15, 1949, she married Kenneth Goldberg in Plattsmouth.

She moved to Arlington in 1969 and then to Uehling in 2000. She worked at Philips Department Store and Fremont Keno in Fremont, the Lantern Lounge and Paul & Jo’s in Arlington and the Oakland and Uehling Mini Mart.

She was a member of Elim Lutheran Church at Swaburg and past secretary of ELCA.

Mrs. Goldberg was a member of the American Legion Post 71 Auxiliary in Arlington, VFW Post 8332 Auxiliary in Arlington, past president of Arlington Firemen’s Auxiliary and past manager of the Arlington Vets Club.

She also was a member of the local coffee club in Uehling.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Sharilyn and Wayne Sasges of Grand Island, Linda and Lonnie Achtemeier of Prattville, Ala., Debra Davis of York, and Brenda and Duane Partusch of Fremont; special companion, Norman Petersen of Uehling; brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Kathy Laaker of Omaha; sisters, Pat Kruse of Fremont and Donna Burt of Waukee, Iowa; nine grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one step-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth.
