Charles A. Garske died at his home in Chicago last Saturday, April 3rd of diabetes, from which he had been a sufferer for some months. The body was brought here Monday morning and a private funeral service held at the Campbell undertaking rooms, conducted by Rev. H. Werning at 2:30 that afternoon. Miss Ethel Mead and Mrs. E. J. Hancock sang a duet at the service. Burial was in the Blair cemetery.

Deceased was born at Burlington, Wis., May 26th, 1876, so was almost 50 years of age. At the age of four he came to Blair with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Garske, and grew to manhood’s state here. When he was about 20 he accepted a position in a bank in Omaha, later he was with a large store in Lincoln and became an expert window dresser, visiting many of the large cities in the country in this capacity. On account of failing health some twelve years ago he gave up this confining work and went into business in Chicago, which had been his home ever since that time.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Emma Rose Garske, to whom he was married in 1903 at Leavenworth, Kansas, his father, A. F. Garske, of this city, three sisters, Mrs. Chris Frahm and Mrs. C. E. Ivison, of Chicago, and Mrs. W. D. Gibson, of Omaha. Also one brother, R. L. Garske, of Omaha. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of many old friends in Blair.
