Clara Lucinda (Miller) Emory
Died on 5/27/1890

Obituary

Died - At her home near Kennard, Washington County, Nebraska, May 27, 1890, Mrs. Clara L. Emory, aged 37 years and 7 months.

Mrs. Emory's maiden name was Miller. She was born in Perry County, Indiana, came to Nebraska in 1867, and was married to Wm. Emory in the spring of 1875. The deceased leaves a husband and four girls and two boys, the oldest 14 years, the youngest, 5 days old.

She was converted under the labors of Bro. Geo. Griffith about a year ago, and joined, on probation, the Free Methodist Church. Not being situated so she could attend church, she had not been taken in as a full member, but died in the triumphs of a living faith, leaving the testimony that God can save to the uttermost even when contending with the last enemy, death.

The funeral sermon was preached by the writer at Blair, Nebraska. Text: "Be ye therefore ready all, for in an hour ye think not, the Son of man cometh." Luke 12-40
