Mina L. Warren, 73

Mina L. Warren, 73, of Blair, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 2004, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., Friday, Feb. 13, with the family receiving friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Mina L. Warren was born Jan. 17, 1931, in Decatur to Fred J. and Minnie C. (Andersen) Young. She grew up in Decatur and graduated from Decatur High School in 1948.

After graduation, she moved to Omaha and attended Commercial Extension Business College, where she received her business degree. She worked for Jones Investigations Agency and National Gypsum Company (the Mead ammunition plant), where she packed shells with powder during the war.

She eventually moved back to Decatur. She married Gerald “Tom” Warren on March 25, 1955. They farmed for several years before moving to Blair in April 1960.

Mr. and Mrs. Warren played and sang with several country and western bands for more than 20 years in and around the Blair area. Mrs. Warren was a secretary at D.L. Blair for more than 14 years and also worked for Washington County for more than 10 years prior to retiring.

She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. in Blair.

Mrs. Warren is survived by her husband, Gerald “Tom” Warren; daughters and sons-in-law, Terri and Brent Ramsey and Gay “Riley” and Craig Duis, all of Blair; a son, Mark Warren of Omaha; sisters and a brother-in-law, Doris Harris of Torrington, Wyo., and Bonnie and Henry Otte; six grandchildren; one great-grandson; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, Ned J. Young, and a sister, Mary Jean Ferguson.

Memorials are suggested to the Blair V.F.W. Club Post No. 1251.
