Myrtle I. Warren, age 89, of Tekamah, died on Monday morning, January 9th, 1989, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair, Nebraska. Myrtle was born on August 6th, 1899 at Decatur, Nebraska to Barton and Mary (Redding) Thomas. On November 15th, 1921, she was united in marriage to Ernest Carl Warren at Onawa, Iowa. The couple farmed near Decatur and for many years before retiring in 1961, when they moved to Oakland. In 1967, they moved from Oakland to Tekamah, where Myrtle resided at the time of her death. Mr. Warren died on October 5th, 1986. Myrtle was a long-time member of the Tekamah V.F.W. Auxiliary, Post -3304.

Survivors include one daughter, Betty Moore of Oakland; two sons: Paul Warren and wife, Norma, of Lexington, Nebraska, and Delwin (Bud) Warren of Tekamah; five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; one sister, Frances Hedges of South Sioux City, Nebraska; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, two sons-in-law, one grandson (Gary, in 1966) and one sister, (Florence Jensen, in 1984).

Funeral Services were held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12th, 1989 at the Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah with Elder Harry Curl officiating. Interment was in the Lyons Cemetery at Lyons, Nebraska.
