#1-29 Jan., 1903 - Blair Republican - John Warrick

John Warrick died very suddenly at his home in Arlington last Sunday morning, and the body was brought over here Monday and taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. W. W. Dixon. The funeral was held in the Baptist church at 2 o’clock on Tuesday, Rev. Richards officiating. Mr. Warrick was born in Pennsylvania in 1833 and came to this county about thirty five years ago, settling on a farm a few miles north of town where he spent most of his life. Three years ago he moved to Arlington with his wife and only unmarried daughter, Esther, who now survive him, besides three sons, Isaiah, Nehemiah and Gus, and four daughters, Mesdames John Compton, S. S. and W. W. Dixon and John Younkins of Idaho. In the death of the above and A. T. Johns, two of the oldest and most respected of the pioneer citizens of Cuming City have this week been laid away to their eternal rest. A few days ago they gave us cheerful greeting on the street - today they have finished their life work and have passed from human kind forever.

John Warrick

The sudden and unexpected death of John Warrick last Sunday morning was a surprise and shock to the many friends of the family, some of whom had known him during his thirty-two years residence in Washington County. A week ago Tuesday he was taken sick with heart trouble but got better and Saturday was able to be up and around, but Sunday morning he was taken worse and lived but a few minutes after medical assistance arrived. Mr. Warrick was born and raised in Pennsylvania. He moved to Nebraska in 1870 and has since resided on his farm north of Blair. The funeral was held from the Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon. He leaves to mourn his loss a wife, three boys and five girls, all of whom were present at the funeral, except one daughter who lives in Idaho. A large circle of friends join THE PILOT in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
