Torvel Andersen

Torvel Andersen, lifetime Washington County resident and farmer, died suddenly at his home last Monday. He was 82 years of age.

The Andersens had lived for many years just east of Kennard on Highway 30 in a comfortable, well-kept farm place which had been their home for most of their lives.

Mr. Andersen was born at Blair on May 31, 1892. He grew to manhood in the Kennard area. He took an active interest in many community affairs and was held high in esteem by his many friends.

He is survived by his wife, Rosie and by two daughters and one son.

The daughters are Mrs. Elmer Wulf (Evelyn) and Mrs. Russell Suverkrubbe (Phyllis). The son is Merle Andersen. All live in the Blair and Kennard area. There are also 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Mrs. Agnes Nielsen, of Blair, is a sister.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. today (Thursday) at the Emmaus Lutheran Church at Kennard. The Rev. Joseph Myers will conduct the service and burial will be made in the Kennard Cemetery under the direction of the Bendorf Funeral Home of Blair.
