Alice Wasenius, 72

Alice Wasenius, 72, of Schuyler, died Oct. 23, 2004, at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, at Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel in Schuyler, with Pastor Lynn Martin of Arlington Community Church officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, at the Deaver “Bethel” Cemetery in rural Stamford.

Visitation is from noon until 8 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, at Svoboda Funeral Home in Schuyler. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation will also be held 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Alice Wasenius was born May 2, 1932, at Beaver City to Wesley and Lela (Goosic) Stubbs. She attended Beaver City Grade School, Districts 44 and 89, and graduated from Beaver City High School.

On Sept. 28, 1952, she married Wylles Adden. On June 10, 1962, she married Carl “Vic” Wasenius in Oxford.

Mrs. Wasenius was a co-owner and operator, along with her husband, Vic, of Wasenius Paint Store in Schuyler. The couple worked at the store until 1985, when Mr. Wasenius retired.

She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Bradley and Karen Adden of Lincoln, and Brent and Carol Wasenius of Arlington; step-son and daughter-in-law, Vaughn and Kathy Wasenius of Glenwood, Iowa; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and mother, Lela Stubbs of Beaver City.
