The funeral of Mrs. Wm. A. Watkins, whose death occurred at the Blair Hospital last Wednesday evening, was held at the Christian Church at 1 o’clock last Wednesday afternoon, Rev, L.H. Camp officiating. Burial was in the Blair Cemetery by the side of her husband, whose death occurred in Omaha November 18th, 1918. Vesta Elizabeth Tisher was born in Sartis, Ohio, April 23rd, 1844, and was married to William A. Watkins February 25th, 1869 at Florence, Neb. They lived in this state for some thirty years, then at Tabor, Ia., for about twenty years. Since his death she has made her home with the children, recently with her son, John, who lives north of town. She had been in the hospital about six weeks suffering with a cancer that finally caused her death. Seven children were born to them, all of whom are living, Kate, Mrs. G. Zimmerman of Herman, Will, of Fremont, Charles, of Tabor, Ia,, Joshua, of Glenwood, Ia., Lizzie, Mrs. Arthur Shipley, of Chicago, Ill., John, of Blair township, and Jennie, Mrs. Louthan, of Judsonia, Ark. She is also survived by thirty-two grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and two sisters, Miss Josephine Tisher, of Omaha, and Mrs. Anna Jackson, of California, and two brothers, Nimrod, of Omaha, and Zachariah, of Seattle, Wash.
