Ronald E. Watson, 67, of Herman, died Sunday, April 22, 2007, at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 27, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair. Interment will be in the Herman Cemetery. There is no visitation.

Ronald Earl Watson was born July 2, 1939, at Council Bluffs, Iowa, to Elmer and Ruth (Wright) Watson. He attended school in Council Bluffs.

In 1956, he joined the Navy, serving until 1962, on board the icebreaker, USS Atka.

On July 21, 1961, he married Sylvia “Bunny” Parachini at Glenwood, Iowa. They lived in Omaha until 1986, before moving to a farm at Herman. Mr. Watson worked for Vickers Hydraulics for 33 years.

He is survived by his wife, Bunny; sons and daughter-in-law, Tony and Darcy Watson of Omaha, Scott Watson of Herman; daughter, Rhonda Russell and friends, Bob Kelley of Herman; four grandchildren; two sisters, Marjorie Miller of Council Bluffs and Marilyn Peterson of Omaha; brothers, Jack Lewis, Lynn Watson and Bob Watson, all of Council Bluffs, Jerry Watson and Mike Watson, both of Treynor, Iowa.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to he ALS of the Heartland.
