Mary Jane Weatherly, 42

Services were Monday, March 18 at the Methodist Church in Tekamah for Mary Jane Weatherly, 42 of Tekamah who died March 14, 1991 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair. Rev. Charles Bailey officiated. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Mary Jane Weatherly was born June 25, 1948 in Humboldt, Nebraska to Kenneth and Norma J. Patten Mullins. She attended school in Dawson, Honey Creek and Herman, graduating from Herman High School in 1966.

She worked as a dental assistant in Blair, Wayne and Tekamah. For the past several years she worked as a teacher’s aide at the Tekamah-Herman Schools.

She married Robert K. Weatherly, Jr. June 28, 1968 in Herman.

She was a member of the Job’s Daughters Council and served as director of paraphernalia and a committee chairperson for the hospitality groups. She sponsored the girls to Grand Bethel.

She was also on the administrative board of the Methodist Church. She taught Sunday School and was a superintendent of the Sunday School.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

She is survived by her husband, Robert; a daughter, Jill and son, Michael, all of Tekamah; her father, Kenneth of Herman; a brother, Richard Mullins of Arlington; sisters, Diane Lorenzen of Blair and Pam Cornish of Tekamah; nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers were Steve Tucker, Al Kjeldgaard, Bernie Clements, Mike Shafer, Eugene TeSelle and Norm Kassmeier.

Honorary pallbearers were Mike Hunt, Dean Chase, Dennis Sanders, Jim Andrew, Ron Williby and Rich Grandgenett.

Donna Palmer was organist. Susie Ryan was soloist.

Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
