Michael J. Weatherly, 19

Services for Michael J. Weatherly, 19 of Tekamah who died July 30, 1991 at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair were Thursday, August 1, 1991 at the Methodist Church in Tekamah. Rev. Charles A. Bailey officiated. Burial was in the Tekamah Cemetery.

Michael J. Weatherly was born May 13, 1972 in Blair to Robert and Mary Jane Mullins Weatherly, Jr. He attended school in Tekamah and graduated from the Tekamah-Herman High School in 1990.

After his education, he was accepted in the honors program at the University of Oklahoma in meteorology and was attending classes at the time of his illness.

He was a member of the YCIP, band and vocal music and held leadership in both. He was president of the National Honor Society and was a member of the Community Improvement Program. He became a member of Boy Scout Troop No, 158 of Tekamah in February, 1983 and obtained the highest honor of Eagle Scout in October, 1988 as well as serving in offices of the Scout Lodge. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was active in church functions.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Jane and his maternal grandmother, Norma J, Mullins.

He is survived by his father, Robert Jr. and a sister, Jill, both of Tekamah; his grandparents, Kenneth Mullins of Herman and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Weatherly, Sr. of Tekamah; aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends.

Pallbearers were Mike Shafer, Michael Hunt, Norm Kassmeier, Ron Williby, Alan Kjeldgaard and Rich Grandgenett.

Hamel & Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah was in charge of arrangements.
