Lillian R. Frye, 93, died Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Immanuel Fontenelle Home in Omaha.

Services are 10 a.m. Friday, September 21, at the First Baptist Church in Fremont. Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dugan Funeral Chapel in Fremont with the family present from 6 to 8 p.m. Interment will be in Ridge Cemetery.

Lillian Ruth Mason was born August 27, 1919, in Fremont to LeRoy and Ruth (Whitford) Mason.

On November 25, 1935, she married George Linden Loomis II in Fremont and the couple divorced in 1952.

During this marriage she lived in Portland, Ore., Little Rock, Ark., San Luis Obispo, Calif., and Fremont.

On March 27, 1954, she married Robert "Bud" Frye in Wahoo.

They lived on farms near Elk City, Valley, Blair and Herman, and in Tekamah for one year. They returned to Herman from 1962 until 1988, then moved to their home in Fremont.

She was employed by Montgomery Ward, in charge of the mail order department and later as a bookkeeper; was a salesperson at Schweser’s; a bookkeeper at Pawley Oil Co.; worked for the Fremont Tribune in subscriptions and the Burt County Plaindealer in the office.

For 21 years, she was secretary to the principal and doubled as the librarian for Tekamah-Herman Schools in Herman.

She retired in 1986.

In the early 1940s, she enjoyed being a Girl Scout leader.

She was active in church circles in Herman and Fremont. She was on the church board at Herman Federated Church for about 10 years. She volunteered in the library at First Baptist Church in Fremont for more than 10 years.

She enjoyed knitting, making crafts, reading and working crossword puzzles.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Carolynn Frye of Enid, Okla., and Dave and Sarah Frye of Houston, Texas; daughter and sons-in-law, Beth and Don Landholm of Cleveland, Tenn., Jerry Benne of Oakland and Michael Wachdorf of Omaha; sisters, Janet (Potter) Frye of Wayne and Patricia (Mason) Hartman of Castle Pines, Colo.; 21 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren and 35 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Bud Frye; daughters, Beverly Loomis, Sharon Wachdorf and Barbara Benne; grandsons, Mark Frye and Mike Swanson; parents, LeRoy Mason and Ruth Hindman; and brother Harry Bernard Potter.

Memorials are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Fremont.
