Services are pending for Gene "Red" Jensen, 70, of Blair who died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012, in Blair.

He is survived by his wife, Jane Jensen.

Gene C. “Red” Jensen, 70

Gene C. “Red” Jensen, 70, of Blair died at his home on Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012.

Services were Monday, September 17, at Campbell-Aman Funeral Home. Military graveside services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Blair Cemetery.

Gene C. “Red” Jensen was born on June 2, 1942, in Blair to Clarence R. and Cloma P. (Richards) Jensen.

He graduated from Blair High School in 1961.

He served in the United States Army in Thailand from 1964 to 1966.

He worked for the Iron Workers Local 21 and retired in 2004.

He married Jane O’Brien in 1995 in Crown Point, Ind. Upon his retirement, he helped many people in their time of need.

He is survived by his wife, Jan; son Robert Jensen of San Francisco, Calif.; daughter, Ginger Jensen of Chicago, Ill.; one granddaughter, Phalin Strong; two step-children, Laura Tripp of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tom Tripp of Wheaton, Ill.; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert “Red” and Myra Jensen of Blair; and a sister Mary Kris Jensen of Lima, Peru.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jane. Memorials may be directed to the Veterans Hospital in Omaha.
