Donald D. Wackerbarth, 74

Donald D. Wackerbarth, 74, of Blair, died Friday, September 14, 2012, in Blair.

Services were Tuesday, September 18, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair. Interment was in the Blair Cemetery.

Donald D. Wackerbarth was born December 23, 1937, at Sibley, Iowa, to Edward and Elsie (Graves) Wackerbarth.

He graduated from Ocheyedan (Iowa) High School and attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, S.D.

He went to work for Hobe Engineering of Sioux City, Iowa, and built bridges for more than 35 years.

On November 19, 1966, he married Loretta Jean Hoffmann at Trinity Lutheran Church in Blair.

Mr. Wackerbarth loved Nebraska football, fishing, hunting, woodworking, gardening, and watching his kids and grandkids in all of their activities. He was a volunteer for his church.

He is survived by his wife, Loretta; daughters and sons-in-law, Kristie and Larry Hefling of Fort Calhoun and Marjorie and Jeff Hoier of Herman; son, Bruce Billesbach, Omaha; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Ilene and Tom Thompson of Ellston, Iowa; numerous nephews and nieces.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathie Jo Wackerbarth; brother, Eldon Wackerbarth; mother-in-law, Mildred Clark; and father-in-law, Vincent Hoffmann.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home in Blair is in charge of arrangements.
