Services Held In Tekamah For John Yarber

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 14, at Hamel and Peck Funeral Home in Tekamah for John Yarber of Arlington. Rev. Walter G. Millett officiated the rites.

Burial was at Tekamah Cemetery.

John Logan Yarber, son of Will and Joanie Yarber, was born on June 20, 1924, on a farm near Nashville, Tenn. He died Monday, February 12, at Clarkson Hospital in Omaha following heart surgery.

He was married to Evelyn Parnell at Osceola, Ark., on February 9, 1943. The couple had six girls and two boys.

The Yarbers moved to Nebraska in 1966 where they were residing at the time of his illness and death.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Arlington; six daughters, Mrs. Bill Wallace and Mrs. Freddie Bertholomey, both of Caruthersville, Mo., Mrs. Bob Watkins of Myrtle, Miss., Mrs. Steve Herrin of Tekamah, Mrs. Bob Ward of Modena, Ill., and Carolyn Yarber of Arlington; and two sons, Kenneth of Craig and Ricky of Caruthersville.

Other survivors include three brothers, Frank of California, Edward of Rockford, Ill., and Coy of East Prairie, Mo.; and two sisters, Elair Reed of East Prairie, Mo., and Lee Neal of Osceola, Ark.
