Services for Alta Young, age 89 of Blair, who died at Memorial Community Hospital in Blair August 30, 1994, will be 10 a.m. Friday, September 2, 1994, at First United Methodist Church, with burial in the Blair Cemetery.

Alta Mary Young was born March 22, 1905, at Steedman, Missouri, to Thomas and Rosa “Rose” Hall. She attended Lawrence School in Missouri and moved to Castana, Iowa, in 1917.

She was married to Elton Young in 1923. He preceded her in death in July of 1971.

She worked as a waitress in Blair, worked for Wilkinson Manufacturing in Ft. Calhoun and for the Blair Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and Methodist Women.

She was preceded in death by one son, Perry David Young and eight brothers and sisters.

Surviving her in death are two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosellen and Harold Weikel, San Diego, California, and Eileen and Everett Miller, Omaha, Nebraska; a son and daughter-in-law, Franklin and Darlene Young, Blair; 17 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and one sister, Ima Collison, Blencoe, Iowa.
