IRWIN LARUE, 96

Funeral services for Irwin “Fuzzy” LaRue, age 96, of rural Ewing were Monday, April 18, 2005 at Bethany Presbyterian Church in rural Ewing. Interment was in the Valley View Cemetery, rural Ewing. Mr. LaRue passed away early Friday morning, April 15, at the St. Francis Hospital in West Point.

Irwin LaRue was born Nov. 19, 1908 at Laurel to Robert and Gertrude (Smith) LaRue. He graduated from Oakdale High School May 17, 1928. He farmed all of his adult life in Holt County in the Goose Lake Area. He loved to garden and always planted a very large one so he had plenty to share with others.

He married Roberta Catron May 17, 1939 in O’Neill. She died October 1, 2004.

Mr. LaRue was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church, and a longtime Elder. He was a member of the Garden Club, and the Chambers Boosters. He was a Charter member of the Holt County Co-op and he was also a former 4-H Club Leader.

He is survived by four sons and daughters-in-law, Lanny and Darlyne of Atkinson; Danny and Lois of Scribner; Terry of O’Neill; Gary and Charlene of Blair; three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Bob King of Pilger; LaRee and Les Kubes of Madison; Teresa and Jeff Sandeen of Fremont; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Luciel LaRue of rural Ewing and Joyce Stone of Chambers.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
