Congressman J.P. Latta, of Tekamah, died at Rochester, Minn., Monday afternoon, following an operation for intestinal tumor. He would have been 67 years of age Oct. 31st, and had been a resident of Nebraska since 1863. He leaves a widow, two sons, Edward and Burr, and a brother George, of the Plateau State Bank at Herman. Mr. Latta was president of the First National Bank at Tekamah, of which his son, Edward, is cashier. He had represented Burt County in the lower house of the state legislature, his district in the state senate, and was serving his second term as congressman.
