Fred J. Young Dies At Decatur

Funeral services for Fred J. Young of Decatur, who passed away June 12, were held at Decatur June 15. The Rev. J. G. Werner, pastor of Trinity Lutheran Church officiated.

Mrs. Glen Miller and Mrs. George Brewer sang hymns.

Burial was in Decatur cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Schroder, Charles Rogers, Chris Larson, Roy Tippery, Nick Bahr and Bruce McCluskey.

Fred J. Young, the son of Silas and Adah Young, was born August 11, 1895, at Decatur. Here he grew to manhood and received his education in the public school. He enlisted in the United States Army during World War I and served in Company C with 127th Infantry for three years.

On his return to Decatur in 1919, he entered the contracting business with his father and continued in this line of business until ill health forced him to take an easier occupation.

Mr. Young married Minnie Anderson in December, 1919. They had five children.

Survivors include his wife; son, Ned of Torrington, Wyo.; daughters, Doris Harris of Oakland, Calif., Bonnie Karmann, Jean Austin of Decatur, and Mina Warren of Blair; sisters, Mrs. Clem Ash of Inglewood, Calif., and Mrs. M. W. Squires of Decatur; ten grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
