Mike Young, 58

A family memorial service for Mike Young, 58, of Blair was held Wednesday, July 24, 2002. Mr. Young died July 19, 2002, at his home south of Blair.

James Michael “Mike” Young was born Jan. 6, 1944, in Carroll, Iowa, to James and Marian (Pierce) Young.

He lived in Lakefield, Minn., until he graduated in 1962.

On June 17, 1965, he married Verni Baarstad.

He was the proprietor of a restaurant in Remsem, Iowa. He also was a machinist and an over-the-road truck driver. Prior to his retirement, he worked at the Cardinal Supply and Sheet Metal Company in Omaha. He loved to draw and enjoyed tinkering with cars.

He is survived by two children, Andrea Young of Sugarland, Texas, and Lonnie and Teresa Young of Olathe, Kan., and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
