Allan Yowell, 81, of Herman, died Monday, March 29, 1999, at Blair Memorial Hospital.

Services were Thursday, April 1, at the Herman Legion Hall.

Burial will be in the Herman Cemetery along with a military graveside service.

Allan O. Yowell was born March 9, 1918, to George and Cora (Triplett) Yowell in Herman.

He attended school in Herman and graduated from high school in 1936.

He worked as a farmer, a mail carrier and also in the plumbing business.

On July 12, 1941, he married Dorothy Williams at Yuma, Ariz.

He served in the Army during World War II, and was a 53 year member of the Jackson-Peck American Legion Post 274 of Herman and Landmark Lodge 222.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Jim Beck of Placentia, Calif., and Paige and Brent Peterson of Valentine; son and daughter-in-law, John and Kim Yowell of Kent, Minn.; and 10 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, two sisters and nephew, Gerald Yowell.

Campbell-Aman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
