Gerald E. Yowell, 79, of Loveland, Colo., whose relatives in the Herman area, died on Saturday, Sept. 12, 1998, at his home.

Services were Wednesday, Sept. 16, at Kibbey-Fishburn Funeral Chapel in Loveland with Rev. Mike Lundgren officiating. Burial was in Resthaven Memory Gardens.

Gerald E. Yowell was born Oct. 25, 1918, in Gillette, Wyo., to Floyd and Hilda (Wachter) Yowell.

He married Mildred Clements on Aug. 21, 1940, in Glenwood, Iowa.

He farmed in Nebraska and Iowa from 1946 to 1957. He then owned and operated a meat processing plant and a service station in Emerson, Iowa, from 1957 to 1969.

After moving to Loveland in 1969, he worked for Service Master Cleaning Services, then for Porter Industries for 18 years.

He enjoyed traveling, horses, baseball and camping.

He is survived by his wife, Mildred of Loveland; two sons and their wives, Ron and Ardyce Yowell of Torrington, Wyo., and Mike and Betty Yowell of Loveland; one daughter and her husband, Pat and Dennis Hudson of Fort Collins, Colo.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; an uncle and his wife, Allan and Dorothy Yowell of Herman and numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be made to the Hospice of Larimer County, 7604 Colland Dr., Fort Collins, CO 80525.
